COURSE OBJECTIVES :
Introduction to basic vocabulary for ”survival French”
Acquisition and application of basic knowledge of everyday French
Acquisition of an operational conversational level in a business context

COURSE DESCRIPTION :
‘Survival’ vocabulary (numbers, alphabet, introductions, countries and nationalities, times, food etc.)
Introduction to basic grammatical structures (present, past & future)
Making polite requests, dealing with problems of comprehension
Basic skills and techniques for talking to people in business situations
Company presentations (company profiles organisation, departments, history, current activities, projects)
Looking after foreign visitors and travelling on business (hotels, restaurants, small talk, telling stories)
Basic skills and techniques for using the telephone in business (writing reports, making notes, summarizing and talking notes of conversations in business)
Basic skills and techniques for business correspondence
Making arrangements (appointments timetables, plans etc.)
Introduction to French culture (stereotypes & realities)

COURSE OBJECTIVES :
·    Improve students ability to written and oral production in a business context
·    Develop knowledge of working practices in a French speaking company
·    To improve students capacities to analyse professional documents

COURSE DESCRIPTION :
·    Revision of basic lexical and syntactic structures
·    Improved skills and techniques for using the telephone in business (Ordering and supplying goods or services; answering and making enquiries, making offers, placing and acknowledging orders
·    Improved skills and techniques for talking to people in business situations (company presentations, socialising etc.)  
·    Product description
·    Business meetings (formal and informal meetings, one-to-one meetings and larger group meetings
·    Ten –point guide to doing export business in France and major European countries
·    Jobs and careers  (CVs, application forms, applying for jobs and seeking promotion, participating in interviews)
·    Introduction to international business styles of management
·    Discussion of the importance of cultural awareness in business
·    Cultural “ faux pas”, the use of humour to bridge the gap, and the difficulty of translating humour
·    Introduction to marketing (vocabulary, techniques, brand management)
