The official currency is litas (100 centas per one litas). How to calculate this? Litas/3.4528 = amount in euros. Foreign currency can be changed to litas in one of the numerous banks and currency exchanges.
Many shops, restaurants, service centers accept major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, Eurocard and American Express.
To draw out money from ATM machines, like in many other European countries, only a four-digit pin can be used.
Travellers’ cheques are not accepted by retailers and can only be changed in banks or selected currency exchanges.
If you want to open a bank account, you have to go to any bank with your passport and they will help you to fill necessary documents.
